FREE Ebook: Typology and Allegory

Cover_ATypology is one method using which some passages in the Old Testament can be interpreted. For example, the sacrificial lamb in the OT is a picture of the sacrifice of Christ in the New Testament.

However, Typology is the most misused method of Bible interpretation. What we see today in the name of Typology is totally a deviant form of interpretation, and the greater the imagination of a teacher the stranger the things he invents in the name of Typology.

In this ebook the authors analyze Typlogy and Allegory, starting from its origin and development. They then explain the correct approach to Typology and the boundaries within which this form of interpretation should be kept.

This is the first such book available anywhere on the net, and you can download your copy totally FREE by clicking the picture or the following link:

    Dear Drs Philip and Cherian,
In June, I will have been the faith for 52 years and have much to learn. I am in the word every day, apart from emergencies etc.

I have written before but this time it is because of a great concern of mine with your involvement with “Facebook”. The Holy Spirit revealed the “worldlyness’and the involvement of evil in this organization last year and my brief experiment came to an abrupt end! Please consider how muworldlinessess is acceptable.

I have sent access to some of my writings about my own experiences with The Lord in my life previously. I have also written of Satan who appeared before my face and was seen by my sister from across the room, at the age of 18 years. He did not appear as an “angel of light” but as he actually is! When he fell, he became the opposite in appearance as well as character. His appearance is beyond the ability of the human mind to comprehend what is the most hideous creature in the universe! I could only remember seeing “Eyes”, later remembering Cherubim have many eyes as described in the Bible.

The web site listed has some of what I have mentioned in it.
http://nountainiering.wordpress.com has a 3 part narrative that tells how at the age of 30, The Lord began doing miracles in my life so I recorded as much as I could remember.

The Lord has given to me the Spiritual Gift called “Discerning of Spirits” and I have been saved by an angel from a blizzard, seen demons both awake and asleep(me, not the demons). The Lord has done many miraculous things in my life and I would like to share some of what I have learned.

I hope that you will consider what I said about Facebook.

Thank you for addressing this interpretaion issue, which seems to have gained wide acceptance in our experiencial culture. I am so encourage to have read this article knowing that there are men of God and institutions that plead for the literal interpretation of God through sound hermenuetics. God will always have a remnant who remain faithful.

Thank you Sirs, for Another useful tool in the Bible student’s workshop. (2 Tim 2v15) Unfortunately we are all being assailed by the imaginations of people given a prominence they do not deserve. Instead of processing information through the mind to verify its truth or otherwise, we are now being taught from earliest childhood, to process through the heart and decide a matter by how we feel about it. We need to realise that the whole world is being seduced by virtual reality, and not by truth based in factual reality.

Thanks for the book. Books are rare in this topic but use of typology in preaching is very common. I heard many preachers making so many blunders under the shadow of typology. Some are even trying to make wrong doctrines based on types. Hope that this book will open many eyes.
    God bless you

One of the most fascinating areas of Bible study is that of typology—the study of Scripture “types.” Few Christians have made any sort of in-depth investigation of biblical types. As a matter of fact, this field of study has fallen into disrepute in recent years and this can probably be accounted for on two bases:

First, the extravagant speculations of earlier typologists have left a bad taste for the study in the minds of many; they feel it has been discredited.

Second, the spirit of religious liberalism has silently assaulted the thinking of some. They thus tend to dismiss the supernatural elements of the Scriptures, and since typology relates to prophecy, it has been similarly discarded. The Bible itself, however, makes it quite clear that types are a vital component of Jehovah’s redemptive plan.

A beautiful book for every Preacher of the Word to have. It gives precise guidance. We need to stick to Biblical Principles of Interpretation. I have seen many of these so called Preachers in TBN preachings with big Titles. Shocking the way they teach. They say “God has revealed this …. to me.” They go off completely. I like what Charles R. Swindoll says it in regards to Three Doctrinal Terms:
    1) Revelation occurred when God gave His Truth.
    2) Inspiration occurred when the writers of Scripture received His Truth.
    3) Today, we understand and apply His Truth, that is called Illumination.
The instrument of Illumination would include discovering Truth, Understanding it and implementing it in our lives.
    *** Revelation has ceased
    *** Inspiration has ceased
But Illumination is going on right up to this very moment.
I get worried and very sad, when these so called Preachers who manipulate the ignorant by saying, I have received a Revelation.
My humble thanks to Drs Philip and Cherian, for their tireless efforts for bringing Christendom on course. I really enjoyed reading this book and also posted on my FaceBook, giving quotes that Churches must be very careful of whom they chose to preach.

The entirety of the Law and the Prophets were designed to get mankind to fulfill the Two Greatest Commandments, to love God with every part of their being and to love their neighbor as themselves (Matt 22:36-40). The principles gleaned can teach us about fulfilling these commandments. In Galatians 5:14 we are told that, “the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the {statement}, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” and in Matthew 7:12 we are instructed that, “however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
